Children's Art Exhibit
The Children’s Art Class had their third annual
art exhibit at the Delhi Village Hall during the month of March.
Please visit our online Gallery to view the art of Monty Damone, Quinn
Kelley, Aileen Ray Nealis, Kassie and Krys Moore and Elizabeth and Peter
Niebanck.
Group Show in June
DAG will be putting on an art exhibit in the
Delaware County Building, Delhi, for the month of June. We
will be setting up the exhibit on Wednesday, June 2, at 10 A.M. You
need to call Susan Priest (746-3220)
if you will be bringing an art piece so we can plan how we will be setting
up the exhibit. If you wish to hang, but cannot be there that day,
you need to find someone who can bring your art to the County
Building There are display cases if your art does not hang on a
wall. ARC members and children are also welcome to present their
work.. This is a
great opportunity for ALL of our members.
Matting Workshop
Ann Law will lead
a workshop on mat design and cutting in her home (11646 State Highway 357,
Franklin, NY) She needs to know who is interested and whether Saturday,
May 8th or Saturday, May 15th is best. You can call her at
(607-829-8787). This is a great opportunity to learn how to mat your
artwork.
Workshops
Two other workshops have been
planned....one on pastels by Karen Elkan and a collage workshop with Kay
Parisi-Hampel. Dates have not been set but we would like to know if you
are interested in attending. Please call Susan Priest (607-746-3220)
if interested. Workshops will be scheduled on Saturdays.
Annual Meeting
We have two
possible dates set.. Saturday, October 2nd or Thursday, October 7th.
Either one will be a luncheon. We need to know if you would want to
meet at a restaurant or have a pot luck. Call Susan Priest,
(607-746-3220).
Annual Group Holiday
Show
This year's theme
is "My Favorite." Hanging in the main lobby of Fox Care, Oneonta,
will be on December 1st at 10 A.M. Every member is invited to
participate. Take down will be on Monday, January 3, 2011.
Fair On the Square
Delhi, New York
There will be five
Fridays in July for this very special event. Please plan now for
any, or all of the Fridays. They are: July 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30.
This venue provides an excellent way of displaying and selling your
artwork. More details to come in future newsletters. It only
cost a member $5 for each night you choose.
Delhi Fire Department
Anniversary
The Delhi, New
York Fire Department is celebrating their 150th anniversary this July.
They will be hosting a celebration on the Delhi Village Green all day,
Saturday, July 24th. They are offering spaces to vendors. The
Delhi Art Group would like to be represented on that day. If you are
interested in participating, please call Susan Priest at (607-746-3220).
Another great opportunity for those interested in selling their art.
Tentative cost per member is $10.
Harvest Festival,
Delhi, New York
This annual
festival will be on a Saturday in September. Please consider showing
with us. The cost will be $10 per member. This is in
conjunction with parents' weekend at SUNY Delhi. Last year's
participants did very well in sales. Hope to see you there this
fall.
Grant Information
A number of our
members donate their time and art to other organizations. If you
have done so in 2009-2010, please call our secretary, Kathy Moore, at
(607-865-4734). This is just for our records. It can help us
when we apply for grants. Thank you.
